Signs of the End Times
Daniel 12:4 (NLT) -"But you, Daniel, keep this prophecy a secret; seal up the book until the time of the end, when many will rush here and there, and knowledge will increase.”
The book of Revelation contains numerous references to physical signs that will mark the End Times, including the part of it known as the Day of the Lord when God's judgments will fall upon the antichrist and his followers. These include asteroids, great earthquakes, pandemics, wars, genocide, and poisoning of the environment. In the 12th chapter of Daniel, which points to End Times prophecy, we learn that Daniel saw a far off future characterized by considerable and speedy travel and by access to accumulated knowledge.
We take it for granted in our age that we can travel around the world by air with the greatest of ease. Trips that took our ancestors months are carried out in a matter of hours. The only inconvenience that our modern globe-trotters experience is having to adjust to different time zones. And, languages no longer pose barriers to international travel or business. We can pull out portable devices that can help us with instant language translations as we change borders.
The integration of information - the world's deposit of accumulated knowledge - to a broad array of digital devices has occurred rapidly in our lifetime. Anyone with an internet connection and a gadget like a mobile phone or tablet can look up about just anything. The prophet Daniel probably caught glimpses of this in a vision, and he must have been astounded. Knowledge might not be a physical calamity, but it is a sign of the period known as the End Times. On this blog, various social media platforms make our global connections possible. Amen.
Along this digital journey, I keep encountering new websites which provide amazing information. For instant research or clues to research, Wikipedia, of course, is one of them. Another one is watchers.news Asteroid watch. In a post today, "Asteroid 2020 RF3 to flyby Earth at 0.24 LD," Teo Blašković reported on asteroids that fly by near the Earth; the reporter and researcher included detailed lists and graphs of asteroids that flew within one lunar distance of our planet in 2019 and through Sept. 14, 2020. Although Watchers reports on what we might view as natural disasters, around the world, it also features scientific research findings on such things as earth changes, space weather, severe weather and more. It publishes every day. WorldOMeters.Info, another useful and interesting website, publishes statistics about all sorts of things, most recently about the Covid-19 virus Global stats.
There is no doubt that we are living in the era that Daniel had peered into prophetically, and about which he was instructed to set aside until "the time of the end," which is now. Watch and pray.
