The 1,000-reign of Jesus Christ: Come now the real millennials?

King Jesus Christ will govern
the earth for 1,000 years
We may help Him!

Diana Washington-Valdez

Numerous key prophecies have been fulfilled that must take place before the return of Jesus Christ.

If His return is soon or imminent, then what does that mean for Christians alive today, especially for young adults?

What about college and a career? Marriage and children? What about that house someone just bought?

One of our greatest clues lies in the recent Covid-19 lockdown that engulfed the entire globe. For the Christian, this event presented an unprecedented time to repent and align ourselves completely with the Lord’s plans for our lives and the church (the entire body of believers). This “spiritual training” period is exactly what many - if not most - Christians needed to get back on track.

All right then, so what was the training for, along with our lives’ trials and tribulations? if the world as we know it is going to pass away, and is about suffer great destruction in the Tribulation, was everything we learned in this life for nothing? Not so.

Revelation, Chapter 20 reveals that after the Tribulation, Jesus Christ will establish His government on the earth and that it will last for 1,000 years. It also reveals that His redeemed followers will rule and reign with Him.

The prophet Isaiah foretold this in the Old Testament. See Isaiah 9:6 (NKJV):

"For unto us a Child is born, Unto us a Son is given; And the government will be upon His shoulder. And His name will be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace."

Although Revelation offers few details, these verses – and the patterns we find in other parts of the Bible - most certainly imply that we will have assignments during the Millennium. There will be different things to do at that time. Perhaps a lot of rebuilding will be required. Jesus will be the head of the government, and He will be our ultimate boss. Imagine that.

With some notable exceptions, like Dr. Charles Stanley, few church leaders today preach or teach about the blessings contained in Revelation. The End Times does not represent the "end" for the followers of Jesus Christ. The eternal blessings begin with salvation (John 3:16).
