Observe Holy Communion (Lord's Supper) at home during coronavirus quarantine

Observe the Lord's Supper (Holy Communion) at home during coronavirus quarantine

Communion elements
Many churches are closed as a precaution to prevent the spread of the fast-moving, highly contagious coronavirus. However, you can worship, pray and read scriptures at home during the quarantine periods - and also observe the Lord's Supper or Holy Communion.

What you need:

Bread - set apart what you will use only for this purpose
Grape juice - set apart what you will use only for this purpose

What to do:

Confess your sins to the Lord
Repent of your sins to the Lord

Suggested prayer of confession:

Please forgive me dear Lord for any sins, in thought, word or deed, that I committed against you. Please give me dear Lord for any sins, in thought, word or deed, that I committed against others.

(Matthew 22:36-40: Jesus tells the greatest commandments deal with our relationship with the Lord and others.)

Thank Him for His forgiveness

Take the elements in the order shown in the scriptures and read aloud before taking each communion element:

Luke 22:19-10 (NKJV)

"19 And He took bread, gave thanks and broke it, and gave it to them, saying, “This is My body which is given for you; do this in remembrance of Me.”

20 Likewise He also took the cup after supper, saying, “This cup is the new covenant in My blood, which is shed for you."

 or, you can use:

Matthew 26: 26-27 (NKJV)

"26 And as they were eating, Jesus took bread, blessed and broke it, and gave it to the disciples and said, “Take, eat; this is My body.”

27 Then He took the cup, and gave thanks, and gave it to them, saying, “Drink from it, all of you. 28 For this is My blood of the new covenant, which is shed for many for the remission of sins."

Never take the Lord's Supper while in a state of willful sin:

1 Corinthians 11:27-29 (NLT) - "27 So anyone who eats this bread or drinks this cup of the Lord unworthily is guilty of sinning against the body and blood of the Lord.

28 That is why you should examine yourself before eating the bread and drinking the cup.

29 For if you eat the bread or drink the cup without honoring the body of Christ, you are eating and drinking God’s judgment upon yourself."
