Bible End Times Prophecy – Week 48
Reading the Book of Revelation will bless you!
Revelation or Apocalypse means that something is being revealed
or disclosed.
The veil over the prophetic end times messages of God is being
pulled back so we can see beyond our field of vision.
According to the Book of
Revelation, Jesus Christ, after His ascension, provided the messages contained
in this prophetic book.
Revelation 1:1-2 (NIV) – “The
revelation from Jesus Christ, which God gave him to show his servants what must
soon take place. He made it known by sending his angel to his servant John, 2 who
testifies to everything he saw—that is, the word of God and the testimony of
Jesus Christ.”
Background: John the Apostle is
considered the writer of this book. He followed the Lord’s instructions to
write down what he was shown during his exile in the Isle of Patmos, a place
which is about 50 miles west off the coast of modern day Turkey. The Book of Revelation was written around
95 A.D.
Bible historians indicate that the rest of the apostles by then
had died as martyrs for the Christian faith. Only John was left. Through a
series of visions, he was able to see into the distant future. What he saw - concerning
the things to come - is truly shocking.

A blessing
The Book of Revelation contains a blessing for those who read
and obey it. That is a good enough reason to find out what’s in this marvelous
book.
Revelation 1:3 (NIV) – “Blessed
is the one who reads aloud the words of this prophecy and blessed are those who
hear it and take to heart what is written in it, because the time is near.”
Extra: A third of the Bible is prophecy
related.
Next in Week 47: We
will begin a short study of the Lord’s messages to the seven churches.
Shalom!
